- purple egg plant
- yellow corn
- green leaves and stems
- blue sky
- brown earth
This was my first time to try a tunnel book and I doubt I will be doing it again because it was a lot of trouble, but I had been wanting to try this technique at least once, so finally I did!
First, you make each page separately.

Then you stack them up, adding the background page (blue for the sky on a summer day), to confirm you have all the elements in the right spots where you want them.

Then you make these accordion fold pieces that will be on the sides.

And finally, put it all together, each page goes in one section of the accordion, so that when it’s all finished, it gives a 3D look, as you peer into the “tunnel”.

When I got it all put together, I was quite enamored with it, so who knows, maybe I will do another one someday? Never say never!
I used up my last piece of homemade paper on this project (the blue sky) so I’m looking forward to making some more paper again soon.
History of tunnel books is kind of interesting, too, if you’re into that sort of extra info, check it out on wikipedia or wherever else you get your interesting historical tidbits from.
