Teachers of young children (K-1st, approx) sometimes use a “tattle book” to give the students a place to write down annoyances that don’t really need to be addressed by the teacher, but students still need a place and way to express themselves about the situation. This also gives them an opportunity to use their emerging writing skills for personally important writing.
Discussions about the tattle books also help children learn the distinctions between “tattling” and “reporting”. Most of the time, we can bravely discuss a troublesome situation directly with the people involved, but sometimes we really DO need to tell someone in authority about what we have seen or heard. This is a valuable lesson for us all.
This book cover started its life as an album cover, but the words were just too perfect, and I decided to give it a fresh life as this book.
Coptic binding with blank pages inside.
Thank you for your service, to all teachers. There are many ways to “serve your country” and they don’t all include a gun.
