This book is sewn in the old style of “coptic” binding which has the key advantage that the pages will lay flat when the book is opened.

Cover is a lightweight “paper vinyl” sort of product, from the big box hobby store, which gives a somewhat slick feel to the cover. Sewing is with embroidery floss in similar-color yellow. Small variations in the sewing are part of the natural charm of this handmade item. 🙂
